Debbie Goddard
Current work
Snow, Frost and Snowflakes
Debbie’s current work is about capturing the essence and beauty of winter. It is inspired by the fragility, transparency and individuality of each snowflake, and in particular by the way that each has a unique shape and structure which it acquired as it grew while travelling through different atmospheric temperatures.
Working with fine, delicate materials, and hand-cutting each snowflake individually Debbie produces a fragile cloth which looks beyond the freezing chaos and cold inconvenience which snow usually represents and celebrates the wonder of the sculptural shape of each unique component of a silent snow flurry.
